DESCRIPTION:
Wells Forbes, Bristol NH, mahogany bevel front time, strike & alarm 30 hour wooden works shelf clock, dated 1842
CONDITION:
this case has an old finish with a few small losses, but overall very good condition. The mirror tablet is old with some small tarnish areas, and the top glass is wavy. The original paper label is mostly intact and shows the 1842 date. There are 2 bells, one inside for the hour striking and one on top (needs to be reattached) for the alarm. The original painted wood dial has some wear and infill. The wooden works movement, with extra wheels and weight for the alarm train, is functional but may need service. Ht 27"
